Recientemente recibimos de parte de uno de los miembros del Patronato, un documento  que realizó Ana Luisa (hija de Gaby Gastélum) para una de sus clases, y con mucho gusto lo compartimos con ustedes.

Xacxamayo was a community poor of education. And Ana Luisa Oropeza is a woman who wanted to help Mexico. When she found Xacxamayo she wanted to help the community. She made the foundation “Sabias Que,” which means do you know what? People from the university IBERO students, teachers… are helping this community.

The foundation is an organization that is effective to increase the level of education in Xacxamayo by teaching them how to be a healthier  community, helping them in the schools and helps women how to  make money by making palm boxes.

To begin with The foundation teaches them how to be healthier by teaching them about nutrition.

They teach woman how to know if the food has expired or if its in good shape now the woman have better choices for meals for her children. At the end of the day children use to eat junk food, after the foundation saw this they decided to use the nutrition program of the university to teach the owners of the stores how to make a healthier snack. After this program they have less possibilities  to get sick.

Additionally the foundation helps the woman to make money by making palm boxes.

   A natural ressources of  Xacxamayo is palm. So they use it to make boxes. the foundation help them to export their boxes to other places so they can buy them. they didn’t had a lot of skills so they made them improve them so now they’re prettier and more resistance now they have ribbons and decorations.

Lastly the foundation improves the education system in Xacxamayo.

     They build the high school and most of the students are forced to go to high school. They have also state test, they use to be number 761 now they are number 29. because of the foundation kids can have a better education. They can go to college and have a better future.

However, some people think that the foundation doesn’t know what’s best for Xacxamayo.

In my opinion the foundation found the key to help Xacxamayo. and make it succeed by using education, one of the most important things on life. they teach them about food and have better meals. they increase the education in the middle school and high school. they use to help the elementary but then they  weren’t aloud. they also helped the women to make money and have a better life.

In conclusion the foundation increases the education, teaches how to be healthier, and helps women to make more money and have a better life, that’s why the foundation is an effective project for Xacxamayo.

if the foundation wasn’t there for Xacxamayo, they wouldn’t have as much money to live, education and they wouldn’t be as healthy. If the foundation keeps working on Xacxamayo hopefully one day Xacxamayo could be self-sufficient and ¿sabias que? could help someone else.
